How to get to the place of departure

The starting point of the Silent Village Walk is in the village of Tenaglie, in the headquarters of the Trekking Amerini hiking group, in the hamlet of Montecchio (TR): the address is via dei Pini 7. By clicking on the button next to you will be taken to the site via the Google Maps browser: ⊕

WHO COME BY CAR:

– From the north: Exit at the Orvieto motorway exit on the A1 Milan – Naples motorway; from the tollbooth turn left onto road 205 “Amerina” in the direction of Terni – Amelia – Montecchio. After passing the built-up area of ​​Baschi, continue on the main road until, after about 10 km, follow the signs for Tenaglie, where the starting point of the walk is located.

– From the south: We recommend the exit at the Attigliano tollbooth on the A1 Milan – Naples motorway: from the tollbooth turn right towards Lugnano in Teverina. Once arrived in the town (about 10 km from the Attigliano exit), turn left onto the “Amerina” road towards Guardea – Montecchio. After passing the village of Guardea, after about 3 km turn right where there are signs for the hamlet of Tenaglie.

– From Perugia: exit at Todi along the E45 towards Terni; from here follow the signs for Orvieto – Montecchio until the end of the road, passing the lake and the Corbara dam (about 20 km). From here turn left towards Terni – Montecchio on road 205 until you find the signs for Tenaglie.

– From Terni: take the motorway link road towards Orte and exit at Amelia; from here continue on the road 205 towards Orvieto – Guardea – Montecchio until you find the signs for Tenaglie (about 30 km from the Amelia exit).

FOR THOSE WHO COME BY TRAIN:
Both for those coming from the north and for those coming from the south, it is advisable to get off at Orvieto station, located on the slow Rome – Florence line. From here via the Orvieto – Amelia – Terni line bus, you will reach the foothills of Tenaglie in about forty minutes: the bus stop is 150 meters from the start of the walk, at a grocery store.

For those wishing there is also the possibility to get off at the station of Alviano Scalo, located on the same line, between the stations of Orte and Orvieto: As there are no bus services up to Tenaglie, if necessary and with due notice, you can use of a special shuttle service, booking online through the “Contacts” section. The same service can also be requested for those coming down to the Orvieto station.
